Entertainment Pylon Illuminates New Niagara Casino
Visitors arriving for tomorrow’s gala
opening of the new Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort will be greeted at the
facility’s entrance with a spectacular 65’ Las Vegas-style branded
entertainment pylon, conceived and designed by Toronto’s Kramer Design
Associates Ltd. (KDA). KDA was chosen by Falls Management Company (FMC) led by Hyatt, and the
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLGC) to design the pylon, the
facility’s unique logo, and to provide a comprehensive signage, branding
and graphics program for the $1 billion, 2.5 million square foot complex
in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The elegant Branded Entertainment Pylon, which showcases Niagara Fallsview
Casino Resort’s ‘lady of the falls’ logo, incorporates a 20’ x 30’ full
color, custom curved, Mitsubishi Video Display, the highest resolution
display to be installed thus far in Canada. The pylon also features a 20’
x 30’ tri-vision board, and wrapping all four sides is a text-based LED
displaying up-to-the-minute features, concert announcements and
promotional messaging.
The pylon is beautifully clad with custom-etched decorative panels, and
the entire structure, including the column, is internally lit with
dramatic blue lighting designed to articulate the cascading drama of the
falls.
“KDA’s vision for the pylon was to capture the grandeur of the Victorian-
inspired architecture and the raw excitement of a world-class casino
resort, while paying homage to one of the natural wonders of the world,”
states Jeremy Kramer, Principal and Creative Director, KDA.
Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort includes a 200,000 square foot casino, a
30-storey luxury hotel, and exceptional spa, dining and shopping
facilities. Opening its doors to the public on June 10th, the extensive
complex is at the heart of revitalization in Niagara Falls, and is
expected to dramatically enhance the area’s reputation as a top
international tourist destination.
