Eight small boutique resorts in Bali have subscribed to Pelican System’s “Online Contracting” feature to manage their limited room allotment for travel agents. Though initially developed to manage the high volume of reservations in larger hotels, many smaller hotels are finding online contracting suitable for their needs as well.
“With only seven pavilions, I had to manually confirm every reservation to avoid double booking,” said Surjo S S , Owner of Canggu Puri Merta - Village Resort, “but the long response time discouraged many agents. With Pelican System, I can distribute my room allotment to all of my agents and provide instant confirmation from my web site.”
Participating agents access the system through the hotel’s own website, and the hotel is free to set and adjust all parameters at will. Pre-authorized agents are able to book online with their own negotiated rates, receiving instant confirmation. . “Real-time” reservation processing and confirmation allows hotels to share room allotments among large numbers of agents and clients on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
