Independence Air to Sponsor Washington Redskins

21st May 2004

Independence Air is proud to announce
it has reached a three-year agreement to become the Official Airline
Sponsor of the Washington Redskins. The deal was announced as part of the
low-fare airline’s kickoff celebration, and included a formal welcome from
Head Coach and Team President Joe Gibbs at Washington Dulles International
Airport. Independence Air’s sponsorship of the Washington Redskins features many
elements that will help the airline gain valuable exposure to Redskins
fans in the Washington area and across America:

—A complete media package consisting of Redskins television, radio and
internet advertising

—Logo and marketing presence at FedExField, including a new “Ultimate
Seat Upgrade” game-day promotion featuring the installation of upgraded
Independence Air leather seats, replacing the standard stadium seats
located in a prime front-row location to be used by two lucky winners

While attending the airline’s kick-off celebration Coach Gibbs said, “We
want to welcome Independence Air as the official airline sponsor of the
Washington Redskins. We’re all very excited about that.” He added, “This
will make for a great team. Welcome aboard!”

During the ceremony, the Coach presented Independence Air President Tom
Moore with a Redskins jersey emblazoned with the Independence Air logo on
the back, and the words “Official Airline” in the name bar.

Independence Air Chairman and CEO Kerry Skeen said, “We expect to enter
into many new relationships over the coming years, but only a deal with
the Washington Redskins could possibly convey just how serious we are
about achieving excellence as Washington’s low-fare airline. Just like the
Redskins under Coach Gibbs, we’re a team of people who are very
competitive, willing to challenge the status quo and ready to put in the
long, hard hours of work it takes to create winning results.”

Starting June 16th and continuing throughout the summer, Independence Air
will be launching a schedule of low-fare flights from Washington Dulles to
35 destinations up and down the East Coast and to the Midwest. By summer’s
end, the airline will offer 300 daily departures from Dulles, making it
the largest low-fare hub in America.

the country to the West Coast. Independence Air plans to add live
satellite TV in every seatback of its Airbus aircraft early next year.
With the addition of the A319s, Independence Air will operate a fleet of
over 110 jet aircraft.
