TOWARD Europe, the pioneering organisation created to maximise the commercial success of travel industry companies, today announces that Multicom, a leading travel technology provider, is its latest member.
Multicom developed the first viewdata software for PCs in 1983, and its solutions are today harnessed by some of the industry’s biggest players, including Thomas Cook and Telewest.
The company is committed to delivering innovative technologies to streamline distribution of package holidays and individual travel components, and to enable the industry to maximise the potential of electronic distribution.
TOWARD Europe’s latest signing increases its overall membership to 36 leading industry companies, including Amadeus, British Airways Holidays, Cosmos, Hertz Europe, Europcar International, RWA and Sabre.
Multicom will also join TOWARD Europe’s new Inventory and Content Group, a working group with representatives from over 25 member companies, which focuses on identifying ways for the industry, and TOWARD Europe members individually, to improve distribution of inventory and content.
Rob Howell, managing director at Multicom said: “TOWARD Europe is an exciting organisation, and one that we were keen to join. We are looking forward to playing a key role in the Inventory and Content Group, and to reaping the benefits that membership of TOWARD Europe will bring.”
Bill Barnes, TOWARD Europe management committee member and head of tours business unit at Amadeus said: “We welcome Multicom to TOWARD Europe. It’s another breakthrough that shows how leading industry players are now uniting behind the organisation.
“Since TOWARD Europe launched exactly one year ago, the organisation has gone from strength to strength, and we firmly believe the establishment of the new Business and Cost Analysis Group and Inventory and Content Management Group will create further high-level output and other benefits for the membership.”
