Tropic Breeze signs up to Travelink

Caribbean specialist Tropic Breeze is the latest in a wave of new business signings for Travelink, the specialist tour operator systems provider.  The company has signed up six new clients since the start of the year.
Tropic Breeze announced today will be using the Travelink system to manage flights and accommodation, and to handle invoicing and itinerary production.

Travelink has unveiled a number of product and content enhancements over the past six months, including no-frill airline content bookable entirely within the system, integrated GDS content from Amadeus and a ‘capital free’ business model that allows customers to use outsourced hardware and pay for the system on a ‘per passenger’ basis.

The company has made its system accessible via the telephone, the Internet or Viewdata.  Operators can also use the system to sell different components of a holiday through all these channels, and to vary the price of each component according to the channel.

“It’s this thinking, coupled with the fact that the Travelink system is flexible enough to meet the very specific requirements of small and medium-sized tour operators, that attracted us,” said Mark Fitch, head of operations at Tropic Breeze.

“The business of selling holidays is changing quickly and operators who do the same old thing the same old way are on a hiding to nothing and, judging from recent interest, many have realised this,” said David Jones, managing director of Travelink.
