Jumeirah Announces New Development for 2007

Jumeirah International, the award winning Dubai based hospitality company, today announced the development of a luxury apartment complex due for completion in summer 2007. The project will replace The World Trade Centre Hotel with a 36 story complex housing a selection of one, two, three and four bedroom apartments, as well as two penthouse suites. Additionally, there will be comprehensive on-site leisure facilities for residents renting apartments including a swimming pool and fully equipped gymnasium.Ê Residents will be able to choose from a range of additional service facilities with the management.

Jumeirah International’s Bill Walshe said “We are looking forward to the completion of this exciting project in 2007.Ê We anticipate a rush for what will become the best residential address in the heart of Dubai and are ready to start taking preliminary enquiries now.”

The World Trade Centre Hotel originally opened its doors for the first time in March 1978 as the Hilton Hotel.Ê It rapidly became one of Dubai’s favorite 5 star properties and is fondly remembered by many of Dubai’s residents and visitors as being amongst their first experiences of modern Dubai.

Jumeirah International would like to thank the guests of the hotel, many of whom stayed frequently over the years, as well as Dubai based patrons for their past custom and look forward to continue welcoming them to Jumeirah International hotels in Dubai. We would also like to pay tribute to all the members of staff who have worked in the hotel since opening and who have contributed to making it such a success.

Jumeirah International confirmed that the hotel will close on May 15th 2004, and that all staff had been offered alternative positions in Jumeirah International Hotels.
