Tropicana Takes `The Quarter’ on the Road

The executive staff of
Tropicana Casino and Resort will kick off a six-city press tour to reveal
the details of its new 200,000-square-foot, $265-million expansion project
beginning May 11 in Harrisburg, PA. Christened The Quarter, a Las Vegas-
styled dining, shopping, entertainment and spa complex, it is the largest
and most ambitious expansion project in Atlantic City’s recent history and
is slated to open in September 2004. “With The Quarter, we are essentially reinventing the Atlantic City
experience,” said Dennis C. Gomes, president of Resort Operations for
Tropicana in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, Aztar Corporation. “The Quarter
will offer guests an unprecedented mix of dining, shopping, entertainment
and spa options. We’re proud of this staggering accomplishment, and
equally enthusiastic about bringing part of the experience to media
representatives in our key markets.”

Pamela J. Popielarski, President and General Manager of Tropicana, and
Sherry Amos, Vice President of Media Services, Entertainment and Business
Planning, will join Mr. Gomes at each stop along the press tour.

The Quarter will recreate the flavors, sounds and all the colorful
vibrancy of Havana in the ‘40s. The sprawling, three-story true-to-life
Cuban streetscape will bring more than 40 icon restaurants, exciting music
and nightlife venues, luxurious spa amenities and choice retailers to the
Tropicana. At the heart of The Quarter will be the stunning Havana Tower,
which will offer guests an additional 502 rooms. The expansion will bring
the total number of rooms at the Tropicana up to 2,126, making the casino
and resort New Jersey’s largest hotel.

Some of The Quarter’s prominent and celebrated tenants include restaurants
such as: Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar, The Palm, Red Square, and P.F.
Chang’s. Distinctive bars and nightspots will include: The Sound Of
Philadelphia, Ri-Ra, and Planet Rose. Shopping and spa tenants will
include: MONDI, Chico’s, White House/Black Market, and bluemercury.

Media representatives in each market can expect to experience a taste of
The Quarter’s prestigious tenants, details of the Tropicana’s exciting new
expansion, plus a few surprises. Details for each individual event will be
forthcoming.
