Delta Announces Mini Cooper Sweepstakes Winner
Delta Air Lines announced that Lary
Hesdorffer, director of the Vieux Carre Commission and responsible for the
preservation of the French Quarter in New Orleans, is the grand prize
winner of the airline’s Online Check-In Mini Cooper Sweepstakes.
“Delta and I were both ‘born’ in Monroe (La.),” Hesdorffer said. “And, I
remember fondly that my very first flight was on Delta.”
The contest was offered to SkyMiles customers who used Online Check-In at
delta.com.
In 2003, Delta saw a four-fold increase in online check-ins and more than
148,000 check-ins during the contest period. Hesdorffer will enjoy driving
his custom-built Mini Cooper S; he currently is in the process of
reviewing the color options for his new Mini Cooper. He gives high marks
to Delta’s Online Check-In service.
“Online Check-In is great—wonderful! I can get a boarding pass online,
which cuts down on time and eliminates a stop at the ticket counter. I can
breeze through the airport. It’s really convenient,” said Hesdorffer.
Using the tools available at delta.com, Delta customers can take control
of their travel experience and reduce the time they spend at the airport.
SkyMiles members can access delta.com’s easy-to-use features to select a
seat, use Online Check-In up to 24 hours before flight departure, print
boarding passes before arriving at the airport, check flight schedules,
set up flight notifications and view estimated airport wait times.
SkyMiles members can also manage their SkyMiles accounts and redeem
frequent flier miles. Stand-by and upgrade confirmation also are available
online to Delta Medallion members.
