Gulf Air Commended for Driving Formula One Success

Following the overwhelming success of the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, held earlier this month, His Highness, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has praised Gulf Air for its leading role in driving the success of the event.Ê
Bahrain International Circuit board along with James Hogan, President and Chief Executive of Gulf Air, met with His Highness, who reaffirmed the significance to the Kingdom of staging such a major event.

“We are delighted and proud to have played a leading role in ensuring the Gulf Air Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix quickly established itself as one of the premier races on the F1 calendar,” he said. “We are also committed to building on the success of this year’s event which will help showcase the many attributes this country has to offer both visitors and potential investors.”

Both the circuit and the organization of the event has drawn positive comments from around the globe - from the Formula 1 management, the drivers and their teams and spectators alike. Gulf Air has made a commitment to be lead sponsor and official airline of the event through to 2006.
Gulf Air was founded in 1950. Today, it is owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain, Oman and the UAE and is the only truly pan Gulf carrier in the region.
