Radisson SAS to Require iPass Enterprise Ready Broadband

Rezidor SAS, one of the fastest growing hospitality companies in the
world, and iPass Inc. announced today at The Wireless LAN Event in
Olympia, London that Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, the first class hotel
brand of Rezidor SAS Hospitality, will require the high-speed Internet
connectivity it provides to their business traveller guests to be
certified as Enterprise Ready by iPass and to become part of the iPass
Global Broadband Roaming network. The Enterprise Ready certification from
iPass will ensure that the 7.5 million annual guests who visit Radisson
SAS properties will have the industry standard for simple and secure
connectivity via the Internet to their corporate network-based data and
applications. Through this requirement, 110 Radisson SAS hotels are already offering, or
are in the final stages of provisioning, high-speed wireless Internet
access in all public areas, covering more that 12,000 guestrooms, meeting
rooms and restaurants. The hotel chain’s Wi-Fi network will be installed
and managed by Netpoint.

“The iPass Enterprise Ready certification has become the world’s standard
for simple and secure Internet connectivity for business travellers. We
are working towards making all Radisson SAS hotels iPass Enterprise Ready
to support our E@syConnect initiative of making high-speed wireless
Internet access available to all of our guests. Regardless of where they
are, in any Radisson SAS Hotel, we are committed to providing guests with
seamless, easy to use and secure service,” commented Finn Schulz,
vice-president of Information Technology, Rezidor SAS.

By joining the iPass Global Network, Radisson SAS is making high-speed
Internet access in guest rooms accessible to the nearly 500,000 enterprise
employees who use the iPass service every month. The iPass Enterprise
Ready certification means that IT managers can be confident that employees
can easily and securely connect to corporate networks from hotspot
locations within the Radisson SAS chain. As a network provider, Radisson
SAS has passed a rigorous testing regime before being certified iPass
Enterprise Ready. This ensures not only service availability, but also
interoperability with policy-based security systems such as virtual
private networks, personal firewalls and anti-virus protection systems.

“As part of the iPass Global Network, Radisson SAS is giving its guests
the opportunity to gain fast and secure access to the Internet wherever
they are in any of their hotels. We’re finding that, particularly for
business travellers, this is becoming the expected norm, rather than an
additional service,” said Doug Loewe, managing director for EMEA at iPass.
“In simple terms of productivity, the service that iPass and Radisson SAS
is offering is extremely important. It means that rather than disrupting
their working schedules and preventing them doing their jobs, business
travellers can continue to communicate seamlessly and effectively as if
they were in their office.”
