Travelport Announces New Appointment

Travelport Corporate Solutions
today announced the addition of Richard Case to its executive team as general manager for account development.

Most recently the senior service manager for Microsoft’s travel program, Case brings more than 25 years of experience in travel management to his new position at Travelport. Beginning March 29, he will be responsible for creating and implementing the company’s strategy for account development and growth, service to US-based companies using Travelport for the travel needs of their North American and global offices and leading the Travelport account development team on a daily basis.

“The people at Travelport are an exciting and intelligent group that understands business travel, and I look forward to becoming part of their leadership team,” said Case. “I am also impressed by the capabilities Cendant brings to Travelport to globalize and innovate with in-house GDS and fulfillment services to complement the online booking tool,” he said. “To say the least, it’s an interesting time to be in corporate travel, and I am excited to work with customers as they determine how they want travel managed and fulfilled.”

“Richard’s extensive background in the customer, supplier and agency sectors of business travel means he has a comprehensive and deep understanding of what our customers need,” said Travelport chief operating officer, Kurt Ekert. “This makes him an excellent advocate and resource for them and a true asset for us.”

A well-respected veteran in the business travel industry, Case’s leadership will be instrumental in positioning Travelport, together with its parent company Cendant, as the leading provider of corporate travel management solutions.  He will help Travelport capitalize on its position as the only corporate travel provider to offer a true end-to-end solution with online booking, GDS, fulfillment and customer service from a single source. Because Travelport also offers customers the flexibility to choose its products individually, Case will focus on helping customers who use discrete Travelport Services to build out their Travelport platform, and to take full advantage of Travelport’s comprehensive suite of tools and products.

The addition of Case to the Travelport leadership team demonstrates that Cendant’s Travel Distribution Services division is committed to attracting top executive talent as it becomes a recognized world leader in the travel industry - a company that not only helps customers process travel transactions efficiently and affordably, but also generates and stimulates demand for business and leisure travel services.

Case brings an impressive track record of success to Travelport that will directly benefit customers, including intimate knowledge of sales and contract negotiations for the delivery of T&E services, production and delivery of travel management products to multinational customers, management of multi-disciplinary groups serving travel clients, customer service and budget and marketing activities.

Prior to his experience at Microsoft, Case served as the multinational account manager at American Express for Microsoft, and regional manager for client relations at Rosenbluth International. Case also worked in reservation management for Delta Airlines. In addition to his longtime membership in the Association of Corporate Travel Executives, Case helped launch the Seattle Academy of Travel and Tourism as its first chairman.

Travelport’s relationship with Cendant provides a wealth of additional benefits and opportunity to its customers, including seamless integration with a leading GDS, superior service and fulfillment capabilities, and access to other market-leading products and services. The size, scope and backing of Cendant provide Travelport customers with the expertise and stability of one of the world’s leading travel companies.
