New Deals and New Staff Strengthen OctopusTravel.com

today announced that it has signed deals with LTUR, Air Luxor and Freeserve and it has hired Soren Langelund, formerly a senior executive at OPODO Europe.

The deal with Baden-Baden based travel agent L’TUR, which is a European leader in last minute trips, will see OctopusTravel.com’s offer on accommodation, sightseeing and other travel products featured on the L’TUR.de and FlyLoco.de web sites.  On the FlyLoco.de site, it will be possible to create dynamic packages comprising accommodation, transport and sightseeing.  In addition, the full OctopusTravel.com product range will be available through L’TUR’s 140 retail agencies in Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Switzerland.

L’TUR is co-owned by Thomas Cook, Europe’s largest tour operator, TUI, and Karl Heinz Kögel.  In 2003 it had sales of €339m and it handled over ? million customers.
