Qatar Airways Play Their Part at ITB Berlin

Qatar’s national carrier Qatar Airways is in Germany to participate in the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) Berlin, one of the largest travel and tourism exhibitions in the world, currently being held in the German capital from March 12-16. Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Mr. Akbar Al Baker is attending the exhibition along with a delegation of Qatar Airways officials.

Mr. Al Baker said that he would address a press conference on the sidelines of the fair where he will make a new announcement about Qatar Airways, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines.

Mr Al Baker said: “The ITB Berlin is a leader among international travel exhibitions and it is very important to us to take part in this important event,” said Mr Al Baker.

“The ITB attracts around 10,000 exhibitors from 190 countries and territories around the world. More than 68,000 trade visitors and some 130,000 non-trade visitors are expected to attend this exhibition over the five days. This gives us enormous potential for promoting Qatar Airways and Qatar itself.

“The exhibition is spread over an area of 150,000 square metres and is divided into geographical areas, as well as into specialised sectors, such as airlines and global tourism representatives.

“Attending the exhibition will give us an opportunity to not only network with other trade and business partners but also to promote our services directly to the non-trade people attending the exhibition.

“The German people are keen travellers and we have already had a great response from individuals as well as the travel media with regard to our airline’s superior service and our country.

“Qatar Airways is already a well-known product to these passengers, but we need to encourage travellers not just to pass through Qatar, but to stop and stay a while.

“Together with showcasing our airline and its services and destinations, we will also concentrate on promoting Qatar as a superior and interesting destination to all the visitors to the Berlin exhibition.

“During our press conference I will be making a special announcement which should be of great interest to all our existing and potential customers from Germany and those from elsewhere, who wish to visit this beautiful and historical country and will be flying with Qatar Airways,” Mr. Al Baker added.
