Hilton and Scandic Launch Franchise Initiative

Hilton International has today announced plans to roll out a franchise opportunity for the mid market Scandic brand and the four/five star Hilton brand.
The announcement, made in Cannes at The International Property Market (MPIM), the world’s leading international real estate event, states that this strategic initiative will allow Hilton to develop their hotel portfolio faster in chosen markets including those not currently served by Hilton International.

Franchisees will benefit from the acknowledged strengths of both brands including reservations and distribution systems, marketing and the highly successful Hilton Hhonors® loyalty program.

Over the past year, Hilton International has developed a franchise business model with the help of its US Alliance partner Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC), who currently operate nearly 2,000 franchised hotels.

David Michels, Hilton Group Chief Executive, said: “Hilton International recognises the opportunity offered by franchising. It will allow us to further increase our brand exposure and give franchisees the benefits which flow from our global network and the advantages of being associated with our brands.”

Deepak Seth, Hilton International Development Director, added: “We are keen to tell the market we now franchise the Hilton and Scandic brands in key locations throughout the world. Our aim is to grow the business and identify key partners who want to be a part of the Hilton and Scandic success.”
