Belize to host BETEX September ‘04

For those travel agents, tour operators and wholesalers seeking to learn more about beautiful Belize, September of 2004 is the time to get some first-hand knowledge. The Belize Tourism Board is pleased to announce its support of the 2004 Belize Tourism ExpoMarketplace and Expedition (BETEX), which is being organised by the Belize Tourism Industry Association and the BETEX Committee.
BETEX, scheduled to be held September 14 - 19 at the Princess Hotel in Belize City, will feature three days of exhibitions, during which international wholesalers and travel agents will have the opportunity to meet and network with Belizean tour operators, hoteliers and other members of the Belize tourism industry. Educational seminars and presentations on Belize and Belizean culture will also be offered to event participants.

Following the exhibition, participants will be treated to the expedition
portion of the event, which will afford them three days to explore the
country and experience its natural beauty and attractions. Ten varying
itineraries will be prepared to familiarise trade professionals with Belize
and showcase all it has to offer as a holiday destination.

“BETEX provides a great opportunity for Belize,” notes Director of Tourism Tracy Taegar. “The tourism industry has recorded steady growth in tourism arrivals, hotel investments, training, the cruise sector and others, and BETEX provides the chance to build upon that momentum. This event will bring our preferred business partners and new ones here to see the tremendous potential in Belize.”
