iPass Appoints Douglas Loewe as Managing Director of Europe

iPass a provider of software-enabled enterprise connectivity services, has today announced the appointment of Douglas Loewe as managing director and vice president for the company’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.  The company further announces the resignation of Geoff Wilson, iPass’ first managing director of EMEA, after five years. Loewe brings to iPass 20 years management experience in the Internet and telecommunications in
dustries most recently as president, Global Enterprise Markets for Cable & Wireless.
“With key European markets and important channel relationships firmly established over the last five years, iPass is ready to transition to a fully multi-channel pan-European operation,” says iPass CEO Ken Denman.  “iPass will benefit from Doug’s experi
ence and knowledge of the enterprise market.  Doug is the right person at the right time in our company’s history to take iPass EMEA to the next level.”

In his role as managing director for the iPass EMEA region, Loewe will be responsible for driving the growth in channel and direct sales, operations and business development in a region with offices in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark.

Loewe brings new leadership to iPass at a critical juncture for the region.  Under Loewe’s predecessor, iPass has established a strong foundation in the enterprise connectivity services market in the EMEA region, making it the company’s fastest growing
region in 2003.

“Because of the stewardship of Geoff Wilson, iPass possesses a strategic advantage over the competition in EMEA,” says Loewe.  “We’re no longer building an operation, we’re expanding it.  In Europe, iPass is the organisation serving the market here toda
y and is a company that has been in the region delivering service to the continent’s largest corporations and Global 2000 enterprises.”

Among Loewe’s initiatives for 2004 will be to grow the company’s presence in France, Benelux and the Nordic countries while maintaining the leadership position already established in the United Kingdom and Germany/Austria/Switzerland.  Geoff Wilson plan
s to retire and will stay on to assist Loewe until a transition is complete
