Delta and Avianca Customers to Enjoy Frequent Benefits

1st Mar 2004

Delta Air Lines and Avianca today announced that customers of the two
airlines will be able to take advantage of exciting new frequent flyer
benefits. Members of Delta’s SkyMiles(R) and Avianca’s Privilegios frequent flyer
programs will be able to earn miles while traveling on Delta and Avianca
operated flights. Miles may be redeemed for travel on either of the two
airlines’ worldwide route networks.

“We are pleased to offer Delta and Avianca customers more opportunities to
add miles to the frequent flyer program of their choice—allowing them
to earn that special trip or vacation even faster,” said Patrice Miles,
vice president of Consumer Marketing for Delta Air Lines.

“These frequent flyer benefits mark the final phase of the implementation
of our codeshare relationship, achieving our goal of providing added value
and enhanced services to our customers in the United States and Colombia,”
added Juan Emilio Posada, president of Avianca.

The codeshare agreement offers customers expanded services, connections
and travel options between multiple gateways in the United States and
Colombia. Customers traveling between any of the cities in Delta’s global
network and the Avianca codeshare cities may do so with the purchase of
one ticket. Passengers benefit from shorter connection times, one stop
check-in, lounge and frequent flyer reciprocity and seamless baggage

Specifically, the Avianca codeshare flights for Delta customers are those
between Ft. Lauderdale and Bogota; between New York (JFK) and Bogota and
Medellin; between Miami and Bogota, Baranquilla, Cali, Cartagena and
Medellin; and between Bogota and Baranquilla, Cali, Cartagena, Medellin
and Pereira.

The codeshare relationship also allows Avianca customers to purchase seats
on Delta flights from Bogota to Atlanta, and beyond Atlanta to Boston,
Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

Delta and Avianca market both the southbound and northbound portions of
these routes.

Delta SkyMiles members earn miles by flying Delta, Song, Delta Shuttle,
Delta Connection, Delta AirElite and Delta’s worldwide partners, including
the airline’s SkyTeam partners. The program offers additional
mileage-building opportunities through SkyMiles partners such as the Delta
SkyMiles Credit Card, AT&T telecommunication services, EarthLink(TM)
Internet services, participating hotels, car rental companies,
restaurants, floral purchases and financial, mortgage and realty services.
Miles may be redeemed for upgrades, Crown Room Club memberships and Award
Travel to more than 400 worldwide destinations.
