US Airways to begin service from LaGuardia to St. Thomas

US Airways will begin offering new service from New York’s LaGuardia airport to St. Thomas. The new non-stop Saturday service is set to start on June 12, 2004, using an Airbus A319. The flight departs LaGuardia at 8:29 a.m., arriving St. Thomas at 12:19 p.m.  The return flight departs St. Thomas at 1:30 p.m., arriving LaGuardia at 5:20 p.m.
“This is fantastic news for the destination,” Commissioner Richards said.
“New York City residents and those from surrounding cities should find this new service a very convenient option.”

The Department of Tourism is working closely with US Airways and US Airways Vacations to support this new flight through a series of marketing initiatives.

The new service will be introduced this weekend at the New York Times Travel Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. US Airways currently operates 16 flights weekly from its Philadelphia and Charlotte gateways to St. Croix and St. Thomas.
