Hilton Caribbean opens new resort in Cancun

The Hilton Caribbean hotel and resort group has added a sixteenth property to its portfolio, the Hilton Cancun Beach & Golf Resort. The 426-room resort enjoys a lush, 160-acre location between the azure Nichupté Lagoon and turquoise Caribbean Sea, and is located fifteen minutes from the Cancun International Airport. Among the 426 luxurious guestrooms are 23 suites and 82 spacious villas. Guests lodging in villas enjoy exclusive access to the Villas Lounge, which features a private registration area, complimentary breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.
Golfers can play the resort’s 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course complete with a practice range, putting green, exotic wildlife and Golf Club which includes a restaurant, function space, private lockers, shoe rentals and pro shop. The archeological site El Rey, which borders the Hilton Cancun Golf Club, provides a dramatic backdrop to many world-famous Mayan ruins dating back to 500 A.D.
Restaurants include: the Mexican Spices restaurant; Mitachi for seafood and sushi; El Kiosko for light poolside snacks and salads; Pizza & Pasta, an Italian café; Hoyo 19 (aka the 19th Hole!) overlooking the golf course, and the Lobby and Galileo Lounges, which serve up live entertainment and, of course, margaritas.  Additionally, 24-hour room service is offered.
The resort boasts the largest meeting and function space in Cancun. The 30,000 sq.-ft Hilton Meetings® complex boasts 16 meeting rooms with a 1,900-person capacity as well as a fully equipped business centre, a private group check-in area, and transfers and group excursions.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hilton Cancun Beach & Golf Resort to the growing Hilton Caribbean family,” says Danny Hughes, vice president of operations, Hilton Caribbean.  “Our first property in Cancun is dazzling for its array of leisure and meetings facilities and activities.”
