This is one of a series of ‘white label’ alliances that enables
lastminute.com to leverage its technology and create new revenue
streams without capital expenditure. lastminute.com announced similar
white label partnerships in 2003 with Tesco.com and Egg in the UK,
Fnac in France and expects to announce others in the future.
lastminute.com will provide iberia.com with a direct link to its
comprehensive database of hotels with relevant offers in each of
Iberia’s flight destinations around the world.
The deal with iberia.com consolidates lastminute.com’s strong
position in Spain following its repurchase of its Spanish business
from joint venture partner Sol Meliá in September2003. The online
travel market in Spain is growing rapidly and is projected to grow to
£1.3 billion by 2005.
