Today BWIA West Indies Airways, the international scheduled airline of the Caribbean, will begin operating non-stop flights from London Heathrow Airport to Port of Spain, capital of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago.The service will be weekly, with flights departing from LHR at 15.45 every Saturday using an Airbus A340-300 aircraft, arriving Port of Spain at 20.45 local time.The timings are designed to provide increased options for connections at LHR from points across Europe. Return flights depart from Port of Spain on Saturdays at 23.20 hours, arriving LHR at 12.00.

The slot obtained for this service has been agreed for the remainder of the Winter 2004 schedule, and will continue during Summer 2004, subject to the successful acquisition of further slots at LHR.
