PonyExpress opens office in the Dominican Republic

Pony Express U.S.A., Inc., a leading business delivery solutions provider, announced today that its grand opening in the Dominican Republic will be on Friday, February 27th. Pony Express Dominicana was established to provide a full range of Transportation services in the Dominican Republic.“This location provides a solid gateway in the Caribbean,” said Richard Bee, Executive Vice President and Chief Logistics Officer for PonyExpress (formally DHL Director of Operations for Latin America and the Caribbean).“With the bulk of the freight coming into Miami International Airport, our new Miami Depot is conveniently located to give us quick access to and from MIA, the International Hub for Latin America. The Miami Depot is positioned to provide efficient consolidation, and recovery services which will enable us to deliver cost-effective, expedited transportation service.”

“We have key PonyExpress personnel, who have been with the company for many years, in the Dominican Republic to drive our business development initiatives in the region,” said Peter Ticktin, President and CEO for PonyExpress. “These PonyExpress employees will support our agents and key customers as well as ensure our success.”

Ticktin added, “This is the first of many Global Participants that we will be adding during the coming months to build our International Network. Our Dominican Operation is of great importance to the company, therefore I will be traveling to the Dominican Republic to attend the Grand Opening.”

Pony announced recently that it had signed a Global Network Participation Agreement with Correos Expresos Internacionales, S.A. The agreement called for Correos Expresos Internacionales to license the names and trademarks “PonyExpress” and “PonyExpress Dominicana” for use in the Dominican Republic.
