Caribbean Travel News recently reported that SuperClubs have appointed Adalberto Lugo as general manager of Breezes Curaçao.  Lugo assumed his new managerial duties at the Dutch Caribbean Island’s largest property on November 9, 2003. In an update Caribbean Travel News has some additional information on the appointment.
“Adalberto joins the SuperClubs team with a wealth of experience from top hotel chains as well as valuable hands-on expertise in the Caribbean. We’re delighted with the contributions he’s already made and look forward to his future success at Breezes Curaçao,” said Hon. John J. Issa, SuperClubs executive chairman.Lugo began his career in the hospitality industry with Hilton Hotels, where he spent 15 of the last 23 years. Starting as a desk clerk at the Caribe Hilton Hotel & Casino, Lugo steadily worked himself up the corporate ladder from Puerto Rico to Hilton hotels in Orlando, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas. His first managerial position was resident manager of the Grosvenor Resort at Orlando’s Walt Disney World Village where he served five years from 1987 - 1991, before heading back to Puerto Rico for a two-year period at the Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino. Lugo served as general manager of The Crowne Plaza Hotel & Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico (1993 - 1995); Sonesta Beach Resort & Casino in Curaçao (1995 - 1996); and Embassy Suites Hotel & Casino also in San Juan (1996- 2002).After successfully opening Embassy Suites’ first hotel and casino in San Juan, he was then hired as the pre-opening general manager of the Embassy Suites Dorado del Mar Beach & Golf Resort, a 48 million development combining a hotel, condo hotel and timeshare facilities. Most recently, he started and managed his own commercial cleaning business handling contracts with several hotel chains and 23 restaurants in the state of Florida.Upon learning of that Breezes Curaçao was conducting a search for its new general manager, Lugo jumped at the opportunity. “Managing and being fully engaged in the inner workings of hotel operations is my passion and strong suit,” he said.“This, plus the reputation for excellence that SuperClubs Resorts has in the marketplace, as well as the strong allure of the beautiful island of Curaçao, proved an irresistible combination for me.
