CHA 2004 to Hold a Spotlight on the Internet

The Caribbean Marketplace 2004, the most important and productive marketing event in the Caribbean region will take place January 11-13, 2004 in Puerto Rico. This year’s conference promises to focus on the how to take advantage of the all that the Internet can offer.
Initiated by the The Caribbean Hotel Association in 1980 CHA marketplace aims to provide its members with an international marketplace to conduct negotiations in a business environment with scheduled appointments.

Celebrating its 24th anniversary in January 2004, CHA marketplace is recognized as the most important tourism marketing event of the year for the Caribbean region. The event brings together approximately 400 Caribbean tourism suppliers from 35 Caribbean destinations to meet with qualified international buyers - wholesalers, incentive buyers, meeting planners, group buyers and dive shop owners - from around the world.
Caribbean Marketplace 2004 will be holding the spotlight on the Internet, with a special session on how Caribbean hotels can drive incremental revenue to their properties through the private-label booking engine hosted by the website

The session, presented by the Caribbean Hotel Association Charitable Trust (CHACT), will cover issues such as how to use this program’s custom Extranet; how to manage rates and inventory; and merchandising and marketing opportunities, and will close with an open discussion on product and market challenges.

Caribbean Marketplace 2003 was a major success with a 12% increase in Buyer attendance and 44% increase in business appointments scheduled.
