Mark your calendars to travel to Bonaire anytime from June 5-19, 2004 and take part in the Eighth Annual Bonaire Dive Festival. Promising more diving, more fun and no fees, this year’s festival has been expanded from one week to two weeks so that you have the option to come any time during the two weeks and stay as long as you want. This change will allow you to have more free time during the festival to see and experience more of Bonaire, with more time to simply relax and enjoy being on holiday. And again, this year, the fees for participation in the Festival have been eliminated.Philippe Cousteau Jr. will be the featured presenter at the festival, carrying on his father’s work and vision to inspire a sense of stewardship towards our ocean planet. He will be on island for the entire two weeks, and in addition to his presentations, Mr. Cousteau will also be available for guided dives with the participants. While educational activities related to the protection of our marine environment and gear and equipment demonstrations will remain the key elements of the 2004 Festival, this year a variety of topside activities have been added to the schedule including A Taste of Bonaire food and cultural festival, Underwater photography workshops and photo contest and a Scuba Challenge/Fish ID contest! For further information on the Dive Festival including special hotel packages, go to www.bonairedivefestival.com.
