The island of Jamaica was recognised as the number one destination in the Caribbean for 2003 at the Travel Weekly Readers Choice Awards on Thursday, December 18 at The Pierre in New York City. In addition - Sandals Resorts received top honours as the best Caribbean hotel chain. The Honourable Gordon Butch Stewart, Owner of Sandals and Beaches Resorts was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedicated service to the tourism industry.
