NBC’s hit reality series, “Fear Factor” will conduct a special search in New York City for a bevy of bold and fascinating contestants by holding an open casting call at the Adventures in Travel Expo, presented by the New York Post, at the Jacob Javits Center on January 10 and January 11.
“Fear Factor” fans and adventure travel enthusiasts from the East Coast and around the globe will want to mark their calendars for the biggest travel and adventure show in the world. In addition to a rock climbing wall, a huge scale-model cruise ship, a 120’ zip line, 25,000 gallon diving and kayak pool, and an adventure challenge course, more than 400 exhibitors will be there, including hundreds of destinations and resorts from around the world, outfitters and gear manufacturers. Many thousands are expected to attend from the tri-state area and beyond. All energetic, enthusiastic and outgoing contestant candidates who are at least 21 years of age are encouraged to attend. All potential contestants should bring a pen, recent photo and proper ID. No stunts will be performed at the Expo. In addition to searching for the usual brave and daring thrill seekers, “Fear Factor” is currently producing another family version and requesting all eager parent/child teams (one parent and one child) to meet with Casting Directors. Children must be between the ages of 11 and 13 as of January 2004. Prospective “Fear Factor” contestants can find additional instructions and complete details by going to www.fearfactor.com and clicking on the “Apply” link at the top of the page.“With an event as dynamic and strong as the Adventures in Travel Expo, their audience’s lifestyle makes a perfect organic fit with the ‘Fear Factor’ demographic,” says Producer Mikey Glazer about the event. “There is a real ‘fear factor’ to many of the extreme activities exhibited at the Expo and athletes and travelers who appreciate that lifestyle are the same as those who appreciate ‘Fear Factor.’”
