President and Chief Operating Officer of Caribbean Star Airlines, Paul Moreira proudly announced earlier this week that the airline is increasing its fleet. The new Dash 8 - 300 (S/N266) touched down at the V. C Bird International Airport at 1:23 p.m. on Friday 28th November 2003.
Moreira said, “Increasing fleet for any airline is good news, it means everything is good and new destinations are on the horizon. For us, it speaks volumes about our performance to date.” He added, that the airline expects delivery of another Dash 8 - 300 early this week. This will bring the present fleet to ten aircraft.Caribbean Star showed a 34% increase in passengers carried in the last quarter and while its capacity has only increased by 10%, the airline has registered tremendous growth in all other areas of performance. Only 2 weeks ago at a function in the United Kingdom, it was named the “Best inter-island Carrier in the Caribbean”. This is good news for travelers with increased flights and more avaliability.
