The Malliouhana Hotel on the tiny unspoilt Caribbean island of Anguilla opened a brand new luxurious spa in November 2002 on 15,000 square feet of oceanfront paradise.

The Mediterranean-style Malliouhana Spa takes the privately owned hotel, which is already considered by many to be one of the finest hotels in the Caribbean, into the very highest echelons of island resorts.  The addition of this exclusive sanctuary is accompanied by the re-branding of the resort to: Malliouhana Hotel & Spa An Ocean Oasis.

Treatments and products for the spa have been chosen to incorporate both land and the sea, reflecting both its stunning ocean setting (Meads Bay is frequently counted as one of the top ten beaches in the world) and island botanicals, in abundance throughout the resort’s lush landscaped gardens.

In harmony with the rest of the resort, which was built in 1984 by retired Briton Leon Roydon, discretion at the Malliouhana Spa is paramount.  Each of the Spa Suites and outdoor ‘cabanas’ will give guests their own personal escape - a ‘spa within a spa’ - accompanied by breathtaking views of the pristine sands of Meads Bay.

Every Spa Suite includes a choice of rejuvenating and invigorating spa packages, refreshments, private outdoor balcony and lounge, private whirlpool for two and unlimited use of the indoor and outdoor ‘self’ treatment area.  The Malliouhana Spa also offers a garden studio for cardio work-outs and individualised personal training.

A choice of therapeutic or speciality Massage Therapies:

A combination of traditional techniques, the ‘Oasis Sea Balm’ massage uses specially blended pure massage oils such as passion fruit, ginger/lemongrass, hibiscus, frangipani and tamarind. 

The ‘Ocean Dream’ simultaneously combines the use of nourishing warm oil scalp treatment and the use of warm stone to ease muscular fatigue.  Other therapies include the ‘Deep Tissue Massage’, reflexology and Tibetan Reiki treatments as well as a relaxing ‘Beachfront Chair Massage’.

Skin Care:

The available relaxing and hydrating facials use the Parisian skin care line ‘Sothy’s’ to offer a full range of treatments.  Combined with body care products extracted from natural marine ingredients by Phytomer of France, the Spa offers a complete skin care menu to invigorate and revitalise.

Specialist body treatments include the exfoliating ‘Seaside Body Polish’ and revitalising ‘Sea Foam Body Wrap’, giving a purifying and restorative combination of deep tissue detoxification and re-mineralisation.

The 2003/2004 season also sees new additions to the spa, as two Balinese Spa Therapists join the ultimately professional team at Malliouhana.
