Travelweb Expands International Hotel Offering

Travelweb
LLC has announced that it has been chosen as a preferred distribution partner for leading global hotel chain Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts.

Le Méridien
joins the nearly 3,000 international properties and more than 11,000 hotels and resorts worldwide that are already participating in Travelweb’s merchant program. Under the agreement, Le Méridien will add 135 properties in 56 countries enabling each property to effectively manage its yield and revenue in real-time.

“Travelweb has quickly become the industry standard for net-rate distribution and gives consumers direct access to the most competitive discounted rates at the highest quality hotels,” said Fred Bean, vice president of hotel sales and relations for Travelweb LLC. “Unlike other merchant programs, Travelweb empowers the hotels to take control of their inventory and is uniquely designed to relieve the problems hoteliers typically face through third-party distribution.”

Le Méridien can now offer consumers up-to-the-minute availability on its 36,000 rooms directly from the hotel company’s central reservation system without the burden of allocations, extranets or faxes.  Le Méridien’s net-rate inventories will become part of Travelweb’s distribution network available on Travelweb.com, the site recently named ‘most important Internet launch of 2003’ by Travel+Leisure Magazine, and its distribution partner sites such as OneTravel.com, Lowestfare.com, Continental.com, and Orbitz.

“Travelweb was an obvious choice in looking for a third-party partner for broader distribution.  Le Méridien wants to team with distributors that recognize the value of our product and will work with us to further our reach,” said Richard Veitch, Le Méridien’s account manager, e-commerce. “Travelweb understands the hotelier’s needs and supports them with an innovative and reliable distribution method.”
