Worldspan Announces Expanded Fare Pact with Northwest

Worldspan has announced an agreement to expand Worldspan’s access to Northwest Airlines fare data, including all publicly available fares and those fares available via Northwest’s reservations offices, its Web site, and third-party Web sites for travel originating in the United States and Caribbean. The three-year agreement provides all fare content, including Web fares, to Worldspan’s U.S. traditional travel agencies.

“Worldspan clearly recognizes both that our travel agency partners need access to comprehensive fare information and that our airline customers need to reduce distribution costs. This agreement with Northwest provides Worldspan agencies with the full range of fares while helping Northwest reduce their distribution costs,” commented Mike Parks, senior vice president and general manager - Worldwide Travel Distribution for Worldspan. “This agreement further demonstrates our commitment to bringing complete product content to Worldspan travel agencies and their clients and enhancing value for our airline customers.”

“Today’s announcement with Worldspan represents another milestone in our strategy of expanding access to our fares and content where it is economically viable for us to do so,” said Al Lenza, vice president of distribution and e-commerce for Northwest Airlines. “This agreement builds on our ongoing strategic relationship with Worldspan, expands fare access for Worldspan travel agencies and their customers, and supports Northwest’s efforts to reduce distribution costs.”
