Coming on the heals of numerous announcements, UniFocus’ MEETINGScope? - a system that provides performance measures on the most critical aspects of event planning - is becoming the industry standard for successfully maintaining meeting and convention revenue streams. Leading hotels and convention destinations are adopting the MEETINGScope application as their tool for managing the meeting planning relationship and securing the loyalty of meeting planners. Offered as a Web-based application, MEETINGScope was designed with the input of meeting planners in order to provide performance measures on the most critical aspects of event planning that drive successful outcomes. The functionality of MEETINGScope is further enhanced through interfaces with Sales and Catering Systems. The recently announced Gaylord Hotels’ system includes an interface with Daylight’s Advanced Sales and Catering? application. With this new feature, MEETINGScope users continue to enter meeting information as they normally have and meeting details are seamlessly shared by both systems. A similar interface will be completed for Delphi Sales and Catering systems this month. Custom interfaces can be developed for any third-party SCS. This enhancement reduces training time, increases operational efficiency for meeting sales departments and immediately enables the benefits of MEETINGScope.
The industry has long known that gratified meeting planners remain devoted customers and will continue to generate increasing amounts of business. This is key for future growth in the industry, as the magnitude of the meeting revenue source is significant. The American Hotel & Lodging Association Industry Profile reports 25 percent of “typical lodging customers” are attending a conference or group meeting.
“As a meeting planner, I find the MEETINGScope system maintains the quality of the services I receive,” said Marilyn Hauck, CMP, president of The Complete Conference, Inc. “While issues are discussed immediately when they come up during the course of meeting planning, with MEETINGScope you can be certain hotel management is alerted to your concerns. This is particularly important to me when I begin to see service quality slipping at one of my favorite venues where I would like to remain loyal.”
Commenting on their recent decision to select MEETINGScope, Gaylord Hotels’ Carol Winn, corporate director of research and market planning, remarked, “UniFocus’ MEETINGScope system is an important part of our process to follow through on the promise to be the premier destination for hosting conventions, tradeshows and conferences. UniFocus is a partner that understands our business objectives and provides us with a system that directly facilitates the successful execution of our strategy.”
The Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau tapped MEETINGScope as a part of its quality assurance program earlier this year. Tom Noonan, vice president convention sales & services for the DCVB stated, “We consider MEETINGScope to be the premiere meeting planner relationship management system in the industry. It helps you correct problems before events take place and tracks your results from in-house meetings to major city-wide conventions. It is easy to use, and planners notice the results as well. I see this system becoming the industry standard for all CVBs.”
MEETINGScope is currently offered in two versions; one for hotels and convention centers, another for CVBs. With the addition of each new user, another benefit of MEETINGScope expands: its database of individual meeting planner preferences and hot buttons. This allows meeting managers an upfront glimpse of planners’ service requirements.
