Radisson Hotels & Resorts has announced it has relaunched its web site, www.Radisson.com
, to support multiple languages. In addition to English, the site now offers six languages which include German, French, Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish. Spanish is planned to be added by fourth quarter.
“Research indicates that online spending in Europe and Latin America will be approximately one-third of that of the U.S. by 2005. This statistic alone exemplifies the need to stay competitive in the marketplace and to communicate with our customers around the world in their native languages. By offering these different languages, we are one step further in our efforts to being a truly global company,” said Gino Giovannelli, senior director of e-Commerce, Carlson Hotels Worldwide. “In addition, we have added new features that will be universally valuable to guests.”
New features on Radisson’s web site include an easy search for the lowest available rate across all Radisson hotels in a city; an enhanced amenity listing on the hotel directory to highlight and compare amenities across all Radisson hotels in a particular city; a “Find a Hotel” map feature on the home page; and a dynamic currency converter that re-displays the rates in the requested currency.
In addition to the new language functionality, Radisson.com reached $8 million in online bookings during the month of July. “We are thrilled to have reached this goal and we see this figure growing even more rapidly, especially with the introduction of our new features,” added Giovannelli.
