Shangri-La Selects Travelweb for Online Distribution

  today announced an agreement with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts
to become the hotel company’s preferred distributor of net-rate inventory via the Internet.  “Travelweb’s seamless connection with our CRS means that our hotels can effectively manage their own rates and inventory, allowing them to provide better pricing and distribution,” said Carmen Lam, group director of sales & marketing of Shangri-La.  “Travelweb makes it easy for our hotels to participate without the hassles of manually managing reservations and content databases.  Also, we are excited about the broad reach Travelweb’s third-party affiliate channel provides as we strive to increase reservations from global travelers.”

Travelweb’s seamless distribution network enables Shangri-La’s properties to make their own real-time decisions concerning yield management and inventory. This Travelweb-unique feature allows hotels to provide consumers with up-to-the-minute pricing and availability. Under the agreement, Shangri-La’s hotel inventory will become part of Travelweb LLC’s private-label hotel offerings distributed via and partner Web sites such as,,, Orbitz and
