Nature-inspired treatments in the Rocky Mountains.
How would you like to start your day with a yoga class, and then treat yourself to Shiatsu, a moor mud wrap and calming elixir? Or maybe you`d like to feel more energized and begin with a snowshoe excursion, followed by an outdoors soak, a massage and express foot therapy. Or, do you fancy a wildflower soak, cellulite herbal wrap, custom aromatherapy massage, foot therapy and warm herbal elixir?
Guests at the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa soar, bloom, float and shine with “symphonies for the senses.” Fresh from a $4 million renovation and expansion a little over a year ago, Aria Spa & Club offers mini escapes to help guests rejuvenate, relax and cleanse. True to its location in the Rocky Springs Mountains, treatments are nature-inspired using natural organic products and oils such as lemongrass, wild mountain rose, rosemary and ginger.
In the spa`s 75-minute “Songs of the Mountains” compositions, guests pick an essential oil to change their mood such as sandalwood to stimulate the mind and body or lavender to rejuvenate the skin. The oil is used throughout the treatment, which could include an aromatherapy massage, body buff, oil wrap or soak.
Myriad options at the 10,000 square-foot luxury spa include all manner of facials (cellular repair; antioxidant; deep cleansing and more), thermal mineral cures, carrot vitamin wraps, pumpkin orange scrub… you get the idea.
Then there are whirlpool baths, aromatherapy steam rooms, a sanctuary, tea and juice bar and boutique and a athletic club with Cybex and free weights, basketball, tennis, racquet ball, heated pool, personal training, fitness consulting, aerobics, Pilates etc.
You`ll be too relaxed to want to explore the slopes, for Vail, of course, is also the largest ski resort in North America and they have already received so many feet of fresh powder (they measure their snow in feet, not inches) this season that they moved up the opening day.
Vail Cascade Resort is served by Chair 20, which is right at the property`s doorstep, and more than 30 additional lifts are close by, including Blue Sky Basin with 520 acres of gladed and backcountry slopes.
Other available winter activities include snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating and sleigh rides. Guest rooms are cozy with warm jewel tones and rich wood accents.
There are three outdoor and two indoor hot tubs and swimming pools as well as two movie theaters.
