Designer Spa Hotel to Set the Scene on South Beach

Due to open in December 2003, The Hotel Victor on Ocean Drive, South Beach, Florida, is enlisting the services of internationally-renowned decorator, Jacques Garcia, to create an ultra-luxurious location. The Paris-based designer will apply his own unique sense of style to the 91-room retreat overlooking the Atlantic, which plans to present a new 6,000 sq-ft Turkish-style spa and is expected to make its mark as an oasis of glamour and chic.
Owned and developed by Orlando-based ZOM Development, Hotel Victor aims to provide consummate service at a level not seen before on the beach.

“We are preparing to seduce the senses of our well-travelled guests who are looking for something different,” said Steve Patterson, CEO for ZOM. “Jacques Garcia`s first American hotel will raise the bar for sophistication and indulgence in Miami.”

Adjacent to the Versace mansion, the Hyatt Hotel Victor will capitalise on its central location to become the ultimate in luxury on South Beach, and claims are that Hotel Victor will look like no other hotel in Miami - “A break from bare minimalism with Garcia`s signature bold use of colour and vibrant rich fabrics.”
The creation of a 6,000 sq-ft Turkish-style spa with seven treatment rooms will feature a Haman as its centerpiece. Curved ceilings and ornate pillars will house a large unisex steam room and cold water showers. Heated marble slabs will provide massaging and treatment stations, and the spa will offer signature treatments designed to cater for clientele with an intimate knowledge of spas throughout the world.
About to make his mark on the spa world, star decorator, Jacques Garcia, has waved his style wand over many a Paris hotel and restaurant, redecorating in lavish 19th-century style with a touch of humor. H™tel Costes, Ladurée on the Champs-Elysées, and more recently the brasserie L`Esplanade and the fashion magnet L`H™tel, are among his best-known projects, but he is also a favorite of rich and influential private clients such as the Sultan of Brunei.
The swanky interior spaces will be matched by an equally stunning outdoor pool area, which will be built on the second floor level, providing direct views of the beach below. Designed as homage to the glamorous, shaped watering holes of the 40s, the pool will be surrounded by Garcia-designed furniture, including oversized daybeds and cabana tents. Hotel Victor will also provide guests with a private beach area for their exclusive use.
Over the past thirty years, ZOM initiated more than 85 real estate projects from its Central Florida headquarters. The company focuses its real estate investment and development activities in the states of Florida and Texas due to their economic track records and future projections for growth. This real estate activity amounts to over $1 billion in acquisitions, joint ventures and development, $900 million of which has occurred since 1990.
