Le Meridien Re-signs Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort, Thailand

Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts has signed a new 10-year agreement to continue operating Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort, the market leading resort in Phuket. Despite the numerous travel industry challenges and several new hotels entering the Phuket sector over the past few years, Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort has consistently outperformed the competitive market both in terms of RevPAR and Gross Operating Profit in the past five years.

Michael Sagild, Le Meridien Hotels and Resort`s Asia Pacific Regional Managing Director said, “Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort is a key property within our Asia Pacific resort portfolio and our fifteen year history at this popular resort has made this particular property synonymous with the Le Meridien brand in Thailand. Our customers are extremely loyal to this resort and we are delighted to be continuing to operate the property under the Le Meridien brand over the next ten years”.

Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort is renown for its health spa and massage centre, complete with a beauty salon, gymnasium, three resort pools with Jacuzzis and a medical clinic. The resort also has 470 rooms and suites, eight restaurants, three bars, extensive conference facilities, a vast range of leisure facilities, and is the only resort in Thailand of its type offering an exclusive private beach.

“We have been delighted to deliver consistently high investment returns to our owners year-on-year,” said Mr Sagild. “While the current market environment is extremely challenging for all hotel operators, we have witnessed the strong appeal of Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort time and again. We therefore anticipate a prompt recovery to strong occupancies at the resort in the months ahead.” Mr Sagild concluded.
