The International SPA Association has taken a significant step forward in becoming a stronger international association for spa professionals. ISPA President Jeff Kohl has appointed Peter Sng, ISPA Asia-Pacific president, for a one-year term to the ISPA Board of Directors.
Sng will be instrumental in representing the ISPA members in the Asia-Pacific region as the association transitions from the closings of the ISPA Chapters.
“Peter Sng is a respected spa professional who has served as president of the ISPA Asia-Pacific Chapter since 1999,” said Kohl. “By serving on the ISPA Board of Directors, Sng will ensure that spa professionals in the Asia-Pacific region continue to have a strong voice in the international association.”
Sng is the founder and managing director of Cosmoprof International Pte. Ltd. and SpaCare International Pte. Ltd. After establishing Singapore’s first resort spa in 1994, Sng is acknowledged to be a pioneer for the spa industry in Singapore and Asia-Pacific. Sng is also credited with creating and launching The Aspara brand of spas in 1999. Additionally, he is an advisor for the Life Skills and Lifestyle Division of the People’s Association of Singapore, as well as chairman of the Technical Committee for Spa & Aesthetic Therapy Course at the Institute of Technical Education in Singapore.
“I am passionate about the spa lifestyle and in nurturing and growing the industry,” said Sng. “The spa industry has taken off in a big way in the Asia-Pacific region since the first ISPA Asia-Pacific Conference in 1999. ISPA and its conferences have given the industry credibility and assisted in its phenomenal growth.”
For more than 12 years, ISPA has been recognised worldwide as the leading professional organisation for the spa industry. ISPA’s membership comprises more than 2,100 health and wellness facilities and providers from 61 countries. Since 1991, ISPA has worked to form and maintained alliances that will educate, set standards, provide resources and build coalitions for the industry.
