The De Vere Group Invests £17 Million in Maidstone Hotel & Leisure Club

The development of a å£17 million Village Hotel & Leisure Club has commenced on the outskirts of Maidstone in England. When completed, in the summer of 2004, it will incorporate 122 bedrooms, restaurants, pub, conferencing and banqueting facilities, together with state-of-the-art leisure facilities.

Part of the De Vere Group plc, the Village Hotel & Leisure Club Maidstone is being developed on a five-acre greenfield site next to the River Medway at Castle View Farm, and will create over 350 jobs in the construction, hospitality and leisure sectors.


The main contractors for the project are Maidstone-based Wallis. This will be the second De Vere Group project for Wallis which, through its Bromley office, recently completed a £10 million refurbishment of the De Vere Cavendish Hotel, in Jermyn Street, London.
Architect for the Village Hotel & Leisure Club Maidstone is DLA Architecture, the engineer is Shepherd Gilmour and the quantity surveyor is O`Neil and Partners.


There are currently fourteen Village Hotel & Leisure Clubs at locations in England and Wales, all offering a unique mix of spa and leisure facilities.
