Following the success of the Banyan Tree resorts in Phuket, the Maldives and Bintan, Indonesia, the Seychelles becomes the fourth destination to welcome the groupå‘s exclusive properties.
Located in Intendance Bay on Mahe, Banyan Tree Seychelles opened its doors earlier this year and is the perfect setting for a destination spa - surrounded by unspoilt beaches, breathtaking mountains and tropical rainforest, Banyan Tree Seychelles also offers panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.
The first phase of the resort comprises 37 villas - 18 Beachfront Pool Villas, 17 Hillside Villas and a Presidential Villa - all with private swimming pools and Thai Salas. To reflect the island’s rich colonial history, each villa’s architecture emphasises spacious white Victorian-style bungalows and sprawling verandas. Local artists have also been commissioned to produce paintings for the bedrooms based on the island’s legendary Coco-de-mer nut.
The spa is a fundamental part of any Banyan Tree property, and Banyan Tree Seychelles is no exception. Offering an extensive range of treatments - from massages, to herbal remedies, to beauty therapies, the Banyan Tree Spa’s treatments will be a fusion of Eastern and Western rejuvenation techniques. In addition, there is also a Banyan Tree Gallery - a lifestyle oriented boutique - offering an impressive array of oils, home spa accessories and skin and body products.
“The entry of Banyan Tree will bring a new standard of resort lifestyle experience to the Seychelles. Banyan Tree Seychelles, with its tranquil and natural environment, exotic cuisine and charming Seychellois people, will be a dream destination. Banyan Tree fans around the world share our excitement about this new resort,” said Mr Edwin Yeow, Joint Managing Director for Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts. “In addition, the Seychelles project is expected to provide marketing synergy with its sister resort, Banyan Tree Maldives Vabbinfaru. The location of Seychelles is strategic in relation to the Maldives and will offer unique co-marketing partnerships for discriminating travellers seeking the best in luxury and romantic travel opportunities.”
The corporate mission of Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is to develop and manage upmarket luxury boutique resorts, which are steeped in Asian traditions and are environmentally sensitive. The philosophy behind the resorts is based on providing a place for rejuvenation of the body, mind and soul - a Sanctuary for the Senses.
