Steffen Bathke has today been named General Manager of the celebrated Mago Estate in St Lucia. The 10-room hideaway will also undergo a project of refurbishment this summer to ensure that it continues to meet the expectations of its international guests.
Bathke’s first priority is to operate this tropical boutique hotel with the outstanding standards of hospitality service for which he has earned a reputation. Commenting on his recent appointment, Steffen Bathke says, “I am delighted to be involved in this exciting venture. Mago Estate is an enchanting property. We are embarking on a small enhancement project which will see improvements to the interiors and service levels, whilst still retaining the charisma for which the hotel is known.”
Located above the old French capital of Soufriere in St. Lucia, overlooking the Piton Mountains, Mago Estate is an exclusive retreat and a member of Great Hotels of the World. The addition of four new suites with private plunge pools, and two unique health and wellbeing programmes have further enhanced the property.
Steffen Bathke brings more than 30 years of experience managing deluxe hotels and an outstanding reputation to his new position. Steffen was most recently based in Berlin, where he worked as the hotel development manager for Krebs Hotels. Prior to that, Bathke held management positions at the German tour operator Unger Flugreisen, Residenz Hotel Berlin, Alba Residenz Hotel in Dresden, Hotel Castor and the Alexander Beach Hotel Resort & Spa in Crete where he successfully brought the hotel’s rating up to a “Greek A” category within one season.
