Wentworth Reopens Following $25 Million Reconstruction

Wentworth by the Sea, Marriott Hotel and Spa, reopens this month following a $25 million reconstruction effort that has returned the hotel to its stature as the å‘grande dameå’ of the New Hampshire seacoast.

Built in 1874 and located in New Castle overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Wentworth by the Sea Marriott Hotel & Spa has created 161 high-spec guestrooms and suites. The massive reconstruction project also incorporates state-of-the-art design and amenities including an 8,500 sq-ft spa.

The Wentworth Spa houses an indoor pool, whirlpool, steam room, exercise studio and a superb selection of relaxation therapies, such as Good Start facial for youngsters aged 12-18. As well as the outdoor pool and sundeck, there are also member privileges for golf and tennis at the privately-owned Wentworth by the Sea Country Club.

Interestingly, Wentworth by the Sea is historic both as an outstanding example of a Victorian resort hotel and because it was the setting for the signing of the Russo-Japanese Peace Treaty in 1905. President Theodore Roosevelt won the Nobel Peace Prize for accomplishing that reconciliation.

Located in New Castle, New Hampshire, USA, Wentworth by the Sea Marriott Hotel & Spa, is a 161-room full service resort hotel managed by Ocean Properties, Ltd.
