New GM for Wyndham Martineau Bay Resort & Spa

William Ben Tutt has joined the new Wyndham Martineau Bay Resort & Spa in Puerto Rico which opened in February, as general manager. Tutt oversees all areas of the resort`s operation and has been instrumental in its pre-opening phase of the 156-room oceanfront resort on the island of Vieques.

Having served at the Wyndham El Conquistador Resort and Golden Door Spa in nearby Las Croabas as director of rooms since 2000, Tutt brings a keen understanding of the market to the new position. His responsibilities there encompassed overseeing more than 400 employees including management in several departments such as housekeeping, reservations, front office, guest services, marina, transportation and security.

Tutt was part of the corporate task force charged with setting internal service standards, and was responsible for budgeting and forecasting. He was also rooms division manager at Carmel Valley Ranch - A Wyndham Luxury Resort, in Carmel, Calif., where he held the position for three years, and was instrumental in improving profit margins.

Prior to his positions within Wyndham, Tutt worked in the hospitality field while earning his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Colorado and his Masters in Management in Hospitality at Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration.
