Great Hotels of the World, the luxury, global hotel marketing alliance, has just announced plans to enter the family travel market with the launch of its Luxury Family Collection. This will be the companyå‘s fifth niche market programme, which includes an impressive spa hotel portfolio.
The new plans will feature a global collection of exclusive properties for the premium family market and the programme will enable its member properties to collectively target affluent European families with a high propensity to travel. The directory for the Luxury Family Collection is to be published in September 2003.
“The family travel industry is stronger than ever and growth within the luxury sector looks set to continue,” comments Peter Gould, Chairman of Great Hotels of the World. “Approximately 30% of all hotel room nights booked by Europeans are for family holidays and luxury hotels are quite rightly starting to acknowledge the importance of taking good care of their younger guests. After all, they are the new generation of discerning travellers.”
The hotels invited to join the Luxury Family Collection will offer superb facilities for families of all ages without compromising the service and experience that Great Hotels is known for. Membership will not be solely limited to hotels with children’s clubs; hotels that go to extra lengths to welcome their younger guests will also be invited to join.
Beautifully illustrated with colour photography, each entry will span two pages and include detailed information on the family offerings available at each property as well as suggested day trips, leisure, spa and sport facilities, plus sightseeing opportunities that families might enjoy within the surrounding area. The diverse collection for 2003/4 will feature properties ranging in size from boutique, family-run hotels to larger resort and city-based properties.
Launched in October 2001 and headquartered in London, Great Hotels of the World is a global organisation that represents 200 hotels and resorts in five niche sectors of luxury travel: golf, spa, romantic, family and incentives. Comprehensive glossy directories are published annually for each of the programmes. Membership is by invitation only and limited to exceptional hotels within the recognised niche markets.
