De Vere Scoops Top Accolade at National Sales Awards

The 50-strong De Vere sales team has been named å‘Sales Team of the Year å- Serviceså’ at the seventh National Sales Awards 2003, which took place in London at the Park Lane Hilton to recognise and promote best practice in the sales industry.

Nick Turner, director of sales for De Vere Group Plc, collected the award on behalf of the company before a capacity crowd with over a thousand of the best in the British sales industry.

Commenting on the award, Turner said, “Winning this award is a fantastic achievement for the sales team, and one which we should all be proud of. Over the last 18 months, through training and team building exercises, we have developed a highly motivated and successful team, which has managed to out-perform many of our competitors in the UK marketplace.”

The award, which was sponsored by SBR Consulting, was decided upon by a panel of judges made up of industry experts. The judging panel stated, “With a policy of growing their team internally, the members take pride in their success and the opportunities created. With a comprehensive training programme and teamwork ethic, they believe they have developed a dynamic world-class sales team.”

Paul Dermody chief executive of De Vere Group Plc commented, “This award reflects the growing strength of our people who bring our brands to life. It is no coincidence that staff morale in our organisation is at an all time high despite the current prevails of the hotel market.”


Also short listed in the category was the Central and Northern regional sales teams of the Hilton Group Plc. De Vere, has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and De Vere Hotels, part of De Vere Group Plc, the hotel and health & fitness operator, has also received the award of ‘Most Improved Hotel Brand’ in the British Hotel Guest Survey.
