After five years of negotiation with central and local government, construction has started on a å£19 million project scheduled to open at the end of the year - Amida - The Racquets and Fitness Spa in Hampton, Middlesex, England.

Together with the first ever Amida Racquets and Fitness Spa, which opened in Beckenham, Kent in 2001, this brand new facility will continue to redefine the UK spa market with the synthesis of a luxury health club and a first-class day spa.

Claiming to be the highest investment of any stand-alone health and fitness club, the company states that Amida spa at Hampton will be of a quality matched only by select number of luxury spas around the world.
It will incorporate a 25m training pool, 28-station hydrotherapy pool, relaxation pool and plunge pool complemented by a unique deep relaxation suite, heated relaxation beds, sauna, steam, sanarium and massage showers. The spa treatment area will consist of eight luxurious rooms, most of which will be designed specifically for the product houses that are selected. Kanebo, Phytomer and Elemis are currently at the existing site in Beckenham.

As with Amida Spa at Beckenham, which has been nominated for the Professional Beauty 2003 Top UK Day Spa Award, the Amida Spa at Hampton will have an array of day spa packages available to non-members ranging from indulgent Pamper Days to invigorating Vitality Fitness Days. Each package will incorporate use of Amida’s state-of-the-art gym, 25-m swimming pool and the wet spa area. The luxurious facilities will be complemented by added extras such as healthy menus and Japanese inspired changing villages.
In addition to day spa packages, Amida spa will offer a variety of incentive and corporate packages that may be tailored to the specific needs of individual clients, either on a stand-alone spa basis or within a more general package, incorporating a range of sporting and fitness activities.
