Ritz-Carlton, Bali Resort & Spa Debuts One of the World’s Largest Thalasso Spas

Redefining the spa experience, The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Thalasso & Spa has opened one of the world`s most expansive Thalasso spas. Facilities include seven hydrotherapy treatment rooms, 20 massage rooms, six spa villas, the Taman Asoka suite, and one of the world`s largest Aquatonic pools.

The spa project combines the talents of US architect Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo, with interiors by Thailand-based P49 Design Woodhead. A.W. Lake spa consultants of Los Angeles are joined by Thalasso consultants from Termes Marins, St. Malo, France. This is the third spa opening for Spa Director, Ms. Michi Sonoda, who was spent five years at The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Resort & Spa.

Focal point of the new spa at the Ritz-Carlton,  is the 650 sq-m Aquatonic Pool, where seawater is delivered through therapeutic jet streams, microbubbles, water massages and aqua beds. The floatation effect of seawater allows effortless exercise, through a circuit of 12 bubbling, hydromassage stations-ideal therapy for rehabilitation, stress relief and relaxation.

Thalassotherapy uses the curative benefits of filtered, heated Indian Ocean seawater. Containing a complex blend of natural minerals, chemicals and antibacterial properties, submersion in seawater at optimal temperatures promotes relaxation and is proven to rebalance the body`s mineral deficiencies. Seaweed and seawater have scientifically-proven healing powers and, combined with other therapies, render holistic healing.

Therapeutic and cosmetic techniques utilising seawater and seaweed are combined with ancient healing traditions from across Asia. The new holistic experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Thalasso & Spa also brings patented, state-of-the-art French systems for natural facelift and anti-cellulite therapy-among the first in Indonesia-for facial toning and body reshaping.

Body and beauty treatments will be delivered in exotic packages or a la carte choices for head-to-toe pampering. Therapies include under-seawater massage, affusion shower, hydro jet, seaweed wrap and anti-cellulite therapy. Traditional Balinese treatments are also available.
The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Thalasso & Spa takes on the ambience of a traditional Balinese water palace. Peaceful, breeze-cooled resting and meditation areas along cliff-tops overlooking the Indian Ocean are perfect for a soothing break before or after individual or couples` therapies. Spacious therapy suites, in rich mahogany woods and soft lavender hues, command expansive ocean or forest views. Wet treatment and shower areas are wrapped in natural, locally quarried stone.

Now open to resort guests and visitors, spa-users have access to the resort`s extensive fitness facilities, tennis courts, steam rooms, saunas, plunges, whirlpools and Turkish baths, as well as the 18-hole golf putting course. The Japanese restaurant, Spa Cafe, Spa Boutique, beauty salon and nail art centre complete day spa facilities.
