Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa Promotes Key Executives


Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa, one of North Americaå‘s premier resort destinations, has today announced the appointment and promotion of key management personnel.

Located in Western Pennsylvania`s Laurel Highlands, the legendary Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa has 287 luxurious guestrooms, suites, townhouses, and private luxury homes. Other resort amenities include 36 holes of golf on two PGA rated championship courses, a 32,000 sq-ft spa facility, the country`s premier sporting clays course, an Equestrian Centre with thirty horses, an Activity and Adventure Centre, a Ski Lodge with an outdoor open fire pit, hot tub, restaurant and lounge, and skiing on eight cross-country trails and five downhill slopes, 14 Specialty Shops, and the multi-million dollar Hardy Art Collection.

Steven Spooner has been promoted from assistant director of food and beverage to food and beverage director. Prior to joining Nemacolin Woodlands, Spooner was the estate manager for Ronald Perelman of Revlon, Palm Beach, Fl.; The Breakers, Palm Beach, Fl.; and PGA National Resort & Spa, Palm Beach Gardens, Fl.

Tim Tatgenhorst has been promoted to assistant director of food and beverage. Tatgenhorst joined Nemacolin Woodlands in 1999 as director of restaurants and was promoted in 2001 as food and beverage operations manager. Prior to joining Nemacolin Woodlands, Tatgenhorst was affiliated with the Hotel Queen Mary, Long Beach, Ca. and Pan Pacific Hotel, Anaheim, Ca.

Susan McCarthy has been promoted from public relations manager to director of public relations. McCarthy joined Nemacolin Woodlands in 1998. Previously she was affiliated with TruServ Corp., Butler, Pa.; Air & Waste Management Association, Pittsburgh, Pa.; American Bankers Association, Washington, D.C.; National Recreation & Parks Association, Alexandria, Va.; and J. Walter Thompson Advertising, Washington, D.C. 

Laura Manges has been promoted to director of marketing. Manges joined the marketing department at Nemacolin Woodlands in 1997. Prior to joining Nemacolin Woodlands, Manges was affiliated with Helicon Cable Communications, Uniontown, Pa., and Manges Construction, Uniontown, Pa.

Thomas Goodrich has been promoted to director of retail for Woodlands World. Goodrich joined Woodlands World in July 2002 as operations manager. He was previously affiliated with -MORE-Golfsmith Golf Center, Monroevile, Pa. and Wilson’s Suede and Leather, Greensburg, Pa
