College Joins Top Names in Spa Industry

The University of Derby in the UK, Hairdressing, Beauty and Spa Therapies division at High Peak has been invited by the British Spa Federation to become an Associate Member.

Subject area manager, Paula Batters said, “It is an honour to be asked to become an Associate Member, because the British Spa Federation is recognised as the leading body for the spa industry in the UK”.
The Federation only invites membership from organisations that can demonstrate an established ethos and well-managed application of a range of recognised hydrotherapy and complementary treatments, which have to be accredited by recognised national bodies and tourist boards.
“We will be joining a prestigious list of award-winning names that are members of the British Spa Federation, such as Nirvana Spa, Stobo Castle, The Champneys Group, Academy Spa, Thermae Bath Spa and the Sanctuary”.

Beauty and Spa Therapies at The University of Derby will contribute towards the Federation’s aim to further promote the revival and development of spa culture in the UK. It will also help the Federation develop its role in education, training and accreditation for the industry.
