The renowned Hotel Martinez in Cannes, France, has closed to begin work on a major renovation and redesign programme with an investment of over eight million euros.
The project includes the addition of an 8,500 sq-ft Givenchy Spa, and the hotel will reopen its doors to guests on January 15, 2003, with all work scheduled for completion in May.
The Hotel Martinez , reigns over the most glamorous city on the French Riviera. Built in the 1920s and was completely renovated and redecorated in its original style.
In May 2003, the conversion of the hotel`s top floor will be completed by a superior spa and beauty centre, which will be unique in France as it is operated under the Givenchy brand, a world-famous name in cosmetology and beauty care. Designed to create a modern shrine to beauty and personal wellbeing, it will present a full range of services, including face and body care cabins, relaxation, hydrotherapy, herbal medicine, massages, lymphatic drainage, mud and seaweed packs, plus a sauna, fitness centre, solarium, hairdressing salon and a Turkish bath.
In keeping with the spirit of exclusivity the seventh floor, the spa will be a haven of serenity, dedicated to beauty treatments, relaxation and wellbeing, with everything from traditional treatments to the more exotic; such as the four-hand Ylang-Ylang massage.
Following last year’s opening of two prestige apartments on the seventh floor with magnificent views across the Bay of Cannes, the Hotel Martinez continues its redevelopment. The renovation will feature new Juniors-Suites, a Givenchy Spa, the redesign of the esplanade and the lobby, plus new decor at the Palme d’Or gourmet restaurant. The works have been entrusted to the ECART architecture agency and SM design (the latter exclusively for the Palme d’Or restaurant) and will be completed during 2003.
The Martinez is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
